Madrid/Palma de Mallorca, May 23.- The passengers transport company ALSA report that it has signed a strategic alliance by taking a shareholding in the BC Tours Group, a Balearic company specialized in the provision of tourist services and land services for the maritime sector, mainly focused on the cruise market.
BC Tours is a family group with 35 years of experience, a pioneer in Spain in the provision of services for different types of shipping companies and an active part in the growth and development of the cruise industry in our country. With permanent delegations in the ports of Palma, Barcelona and Cádiz, and presence in the rest of the ports of Spain -among them, all of the Balearic and Canary Islands- it has a staff of 60 employees and in the last year it had a turnover of 26 million euros.
For ALSA this participation in the BC Tours Group will allow it to diversify its activity, developing new lines of business in the tourism sector in general and in the cruise sector in particular. This agreement continues with the strategic line initiated by ALSA for diversification and growth, generating synergies with the main transport activity and reinforcing its presence in the Balearic and Canary Islands, where ALSA is already present in the islands of Mallorca, Ibiza and Tenerife.
One of the main activities of BC Tours are excursions for cruise passengers, as well as transfer and receptive services. It serves 900 stopovers every year for more than 500,000 cruise ship tourists as important as Royal Caribbean Cruise Line, Carnival Corporation & PLC, Norwegian Cruise Line Holding or MSC Cruises. The Group also develops another line of business consisting of the provision of ground services and provisioning for ships.
With this participation, ALSA seals an interesting alliance with a company with excellent positioning in an expanding market, a great track record and well managed.
