MedCruise members shape discussions at the Italian Cruise Day 2014

MedCruise members actively participated at the Italian Cruise day 2014 that took place in Naples -one of the regular members of the Association- on Friday, October 24th, 2014.

The key points that were discussed during the opening session of the event included various aspects of the Italian cruise industry, the current state of the cruise sector, as well as its future perspectives. Among the keynote speakers was Mr Roberto Perocchio, Manager Director of Venezia Terminal Passeggeri which forms an active MedCruise member.

The second session of the conference was dedicated to the sustainable future of the cruise industry. Among the speakers that shaped the discussions under this topic was Mrs Valeria Mangiarotti, Marketing Manager of the Port Authority of Cagliari. During the parallel session, the panel discussed thoroughly the skills and expertise that are needed in order to enter and succeed in the cruise industry.

The panel of the closing session which included among others two MedCruise members, Mr Antonio di Monte General Manager of Cagliari Cruise Port and Catania Cruise Terminal, as well as Mr Hercules Haralambides President of Brindisi Port Authority, discussed the opportunities and obstacles that are currently faced in the southern part of Italy regarding the different aspects of the cruise sector.

MedCruise Secretary General Mr Thanos Pallis formally represented the Association to this year’s edition of Italian Cruise day, sharing views with MedCruise members and other cruise professionals on the current state of the cruise industry in Italy and the Mediterranean Sea.
