The French Atlantic ports (Le Havre, Rouen/Honfleur, Cherbourg, Saint-Malo, Brest, Lorient, Nantes/Saint-Nazaire, La Rochelle, Bordeaux/Le Verdon and Bayonne/St Jean de Luz/Hendaye) welcomed 322 cruise ships and more than 375,000 passengers last year.
They were honored on the occasion of the Seatrade Insider Cruise Awards, which took place at the Grand Theater del Lyceu in Barcelona last Wednesday, at the Seatrade Med. The French Atlantic Ports competed in the «Destination of the Year» award.
Their «The art de vivre» campaign proudly showcased and offered the divers and complementary regions of Normandy, Brittany, the Loire Valley and the Southwest with its enchanting heritage, exquisite gastronomy, rich history and culture.
Their collective campaign aims to promotion the profile of French cruise ports located on the Atlantic and Channel coast and to encourage cruise companies several port stops on their routes.
The other finalists in this category were Singapore Tourism Board who came first and Net Cruise Hamburg who took third place. The jury was composed of representatives of the international cruise industry.
